Advanced Police Cycling Course
This advanced course is for police and security personnel who have attended a basic public safety cycling course. The course will include advanced technical riding skills both on and off-road, integrated use of force techniques, active countermeasures, dynamic scenarios, weapon retention, foot pursuits with take-downs, traffic stops, surveillance, and advanced firearms training specific to police cyclists and armed security. (Includes Redman gear and Simunition technology)
REQUIRED BIKE AND RIDER EQUIPMENT: Quality mountain bike (no hybrid or road bikes allowed) rear mounted bike rack, kickstand, pedal retention devices, headlight and taillight. ANSI, Snell or CPSC approved bicycle helmet, gloves, shatter resistant eye protection for both day and night rides, and a water bottle or hydration system. Padded cycling shorts, padded cycling gloves, rain and/or cold weather gear. Bike repair tools to include: Tire irons, spare tubes, tire patch kit, frame pump or air source, philips/flat head screwdrivers, and allen wrenches. 250 rounds of ammo, 1 box Simunition FX marking cartridges, duty rig and vest for range day, Simunition conversion kit and helmet, if possible.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: This course is physically demanding. Ample riding time and a thorough medical exam is highly recommended appropriate health & fitness level required, medical clearance (Par-Q) is required prior to the course. (Par-Q). ***Class can be formatted for BRRT and customized to fit departments' needs.
