Understanding and Training the Female Shooter - Instructor Development

The Primary Goal: To provide realities, concepts, and approaches that will assist instructors in enhancing their female shooter’s performance. The purpose of this two-day instructor development class is to share knowledge gained through over 20 years of training women in law enforcement at every level. It is designed and delivered by experienced female firearms instructors whose intentions are to broaden the knowledge of how a female's physiology plays a role in the shooting process, ergonomic aides/technologies currently available to assist the smaller stature officer, communication and social issues that can impact the female shooter. Instructors will learn and evaluate creative and effective ways of using peer coaching, introducing competition into their training as well as proven concentration techniques to improve marksmanship. The class is based on an open format with time allotted for 360 degree information sharing. A very honest and realistic approach to enhancing the female's shooting performance will be the focus of the discussion.

Participant requirements:

  • Wrap-around, shatter-resistant eye protection
  • Ball cap or hat with bill
  • Hearing protection
  • Full duty belt and all duty equipment
  • Body armor is required every day
  • 100-150 rounds of pistol ammunition
  • Shotgun 25 rounds 00 Buck or light load
  • Patrol rifle and 100 rounds
  • High power binoculars or spotting scope
