Advanced Holster Work (4-8 hours-customized)

Minimal classroom time will be spent to maximize range work. Participants will learn and practice a variety of concealed carry and drawing techniques to include “clandestine drawing” and multi-tasking. This will be done from the standing, kneeling and sitting positions. Participants must provide proof of “holster qualified” from an accredited instructor/organization upon registration. Co-ed classes upon request.

Focal Areas:

  • Safety rules of transitioning from unconcealed to concealed or “covert carry”
  • Participants will compare/contrast equipment and placement including clothing options
  • Participants will perform drawing and re-holstering from concealment, both open and closed garment, one and two handed drills
  • Carry and accessing additional ammunition and reloading efficiently and effectively
  • Movement to avoid getting hit
  • Tactical verbalization

Participant Requirements:

  • Safety rules of transitioning from the bench/bag to the holster that meet with every range’s safety protocols, i.e. when to holster, when to unholster, safe direction
  • Demonstrate attentiveness, safe gun handling skills and obey range safety rules at all times
  • Handgun .380-.45 ACP
  • Inside or outside the waistband holster, off body with instructor approval
  • Holster must be in good condition and proper fit for the handgun used, rigid and stable allowing the firearm to be holstered with one hand (subject to inspection.)
  • 75-100 rounds of ammunition (contingent on the 4 or 8 hour course)
  • Spare magazine and pouch(es)
  • Must be able to stand and move safely without physical assistance
  • Closed toe shoes, wrap around eye and ear protection, brimmed hat, pullover and button down, Velcro or zipped outer garment
