Defensive Rifle #101

This class is designed to assist in the overall rifle handling and shooting performance of the operator. Through intensive range work the rifle operator will increase her ability to deliver her patrol rifle efficiently and effectively particularly in the following areas: 16 max participants.

 

  • About the rifle
  • Trajectory of projectiles
  • Marksmanship skills
  • Manipulation
  • Loading, unloading and reloading
  • Stoppage clearing
  • Fundamentals of shooting
  • Sling work
  • Relative shooting positions with and without using cover

This is a beginner to intermediate course. Co-ed classes upon request.

  Participant requirements:

  • Rifle with sling
  • Minimum of three magazines and storage pouch
  • 400 rounds of rifle ammunition
  • High power binoculars or spotting scope
  • Brimmed hat, ear protection, and wrap around shatter resistant eye protection
  • Hydration system and simple form of carbohydrate 
  • Proper dress for weather conditions
  • Quality knee and elbow pads
