Integrating Defense Systems (IDS) Workshop (4 hours)

Why carry self-defense tools in addition to lethal force? What are less lethal tools? How and where do you carry them? Having different levels of self-defense tools and understanding how to bridge from one level of defense to another is critical in defending against an assailant(s) and protecting you legally. This workshop was designed to add tools to your personal safety, explain legal defenses using less-lethal, how to transition from one tool to the next and utilize multiple tools simultaneously. *This is an advanced level course. Co-ed classes upon request.

Focal Areas:

  • Safety rules of transitioning from one device to another
  • Participants will compare/contrast their everyday carry devices i.e. flashlights, chemical aerosol spray, edged instruments, electronic control device, striking instrument
  • Tactical verbalization
  • Multi-tasking

Participant Requirements:

  • Demonstrate attentiveness and safe gun handling skills
  • Handgun .380-.45 ACP
  • 50-100 rounds of ammunition
  • Outside the waistband holster, concealment garment optional
  • Spare magazine and pouch(es)
  • Valid concealed weapons permit
  • Alternative self-defense devises/tools: Flashlights, chemical aerosol spray-inert version if possible, edged instruments, Electronic Control Device, striking instrument
  • Brimmed hat, wrap-around eye protection, ear protection, red or blue gun and mouth guard if available
  • ***A water source and simple carbohydrate is highly recommended
