Event Description: This class is designed to improve the female officer’s overall rifle handling and shooting performance. Through intensive range work the rifle operator will increase her ability to deliver her patrol rifle efficiently and effectively particularly in the following areas:

Focal areas include:

  • Marksmanship skills
  • Manipulation for smaller statured officers
  • Presentation and shooting with speed and accuracy
  • Long gun weapon retention
  • Shooting with movement as an individual and with a partner
  • Relative shooting positions with and without using cover

Participant requirements:

  • Patrol style rifle with sling
  • Minimum of three magazines
  • 600 rounds of rifle ammunition
  • Body armor
  • High power binoculars or spotting scope
  • Brimmed hat, ear protection, and wrap around shatter resistant eye protection
  • Pistol with three magazines and duty gear
  • 50 rounds of pistol ammo  
  • Quality knee and elbow pads

About LouKa Tactical: In business since 1999 it is the largest female owned and operated company of its kind. Co-owner Lou Ann Hamblin retired from law enforcement having served for 22 years. She specializes in training female officers and is a certified firearms and defensive tactics instructor in a variety of disciplines and has trained over 6500 women in pistol classes internationally to include the Kuwaiti female special forces. She is a Team One Network adjunct instructor and Master Pistol Instructor (MPI) and MPI instructor-trainer. She instructs internationally in the areas of instructor development, training for specialty units and female officer survival to include presentations at the following conferences: Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), The International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), The International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA), and The International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI). Lou Ann also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for IALEFI and is an ILEETA Advisory Board Member. Lou Ann holds a master’s degree in human performance technology and instructional design from the University of Michigan.
