Developmental Marksmanship for Female Shooters

Event Description: The purpose of this two-day course is to improve the female officer shooting performance. This is accomplished through minimum classroom and maximum range time. At the end of this class the female pistol operator will have a much higher level of understanding of her service pistol and an increased ability to deliver it efficiently and effectively. A pre and post class assessment will be conducted as well as individual homework assigned.

Focal areas include:

  • Grip assessment
  • Shooting-specific strength exercises
  • Equipment review and available ergonomic aides
  • Trigger management focus session
  • Individual shooting assessments
  • Performance tracking and self-diagnostic tools

Attendees are required to bring 300 rounds total of standard pistol ammunition. Body armor, brimmed hat, wrap-around eye protection, ear protection and full duty gear. ***A water source and simple carbohydrate is highly recommended. 

 

About LouKa Tactical: In business since 1999 it is the largest female owned and operated company of its kind. Co-owner Lou Ann Hamblin retired from law enforcement having served for 22 years. She specializes in training female officers and is a certified firearms and defensive tactics instructor in a variety of disciplines and has trained over 6000 women in pistol classes internationally to include the Kuwaiti female special forces. She is a Team One Network adjunct instructor and Master Pistol Instructor (MPI) and MPI instructor-trainer. She instructs locally and nationally in the areas of instructor development, training for specialty units and female officer survival to include presentations at the following conferences: Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), The International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), The International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA), and The International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI). Lou Ann also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for IALEFI and is an ILEETA Advisory Board Member. Lou Ann holds a master’s degree in human performance technology and instructional systems design from the University of Michigan.
